This
year Bob has helped to arrange for us to stay in and use some of the condos
that his family has developed at Teton Springs.
As you arrive at Teton Springs
please do the following: First, go to the Golf Bag Drop and drop your clubs off. You will leave them there for the remainder
of the trip.
Bob will give you a key for your
room at the clubhouse. In each room, there is 1 king bed and one
queen bed. Please decide with your group
if you will be having 2 people share the massive king bed (recommended) or if
one person will bring an air mattress or plan on staying on the couch. Each unit is a 2 bed and 2 bath unit with a
full kitchen.
Here
are the rooming arrangements for this year –
Room 108: Adam Sollis, Travis Heath & Eric Mead
Room 203: Brandon Walker, Aaron Walker, Terry Walker & Kyle Peters
Room 204: Bob Woods, Bryant Arnold
Room 206: Jon Tucker, Gary Romeril & Craig Walker
Room 210: Justin Weidaur, Buzzsaw & Allan Boldt
Room 304: Kerry South, Tim Shumway & Pete Fisher
Room 308: Rosie, Brent Pulver & Doug Marx
The club house and driving range are walking distance from each room. You will only need to allow for a few minutes to walk to the clubhouse each morning.
All lodging has been paid for with your payment for the cup.
Travel
Our
first round at Teton Springs begins at 2 p.m. Please arrive no later than 1:00 to check in
at the clubhouse and to be able to take your bags to your room.
Weather
It
is expected that we will have mild weather with the temperatures in the high
70s for the bulk of the trip. Please
remember that we will be playing in the Mountains of Idaho and that the
temperatures can be colder in the morning and into the evening.
Bob
also suggested bringing your rain gear in case of a shower, which can happen at
any time, but is not expected to occur.
To
give you an idea of the type of weather possible, below is the forecast from
the 3rd week of June last year, as well as the projected for this
year:
2014
2015 Projected
Prize Money
This year, each member of the winning team will receive
$60.00 in prize money.
Commissioner
As always, we will have Terry driving around providing score
updates and helping with rulings as needed.
Please be kind to him as he is only trying to help you with any disputes
you may have. Your first course of
action is to figure it out on your own based on the D-cup rules. If needed, you can turn to him for a final
ruling based on his understanding of the rules.
We will also have someone from Teton Springs as our official
host and helper. They will be helping to
make our time at the course pleasant and will be at our service as needed.
Awards Dinner
We will be having the awards dinner right after
the Saturday afternoon round. This year,
we will be staying right at the resort for this dinner. Please make sure to bring some awesome
prizes to donate to the group.
Prizes will be awarded for closest to the hole on most Par
3s, long drives, Team MVP, and other dubious honors including the Medical Award
created by Pete (piece of the cart from St. George).

Format: 666 Match
Points: Each match is worth 1

Format of 666 Matches
A Desert Cup classic, 666 divides the round into three 6-hole
segments:
·
1-6: Best ball
·
7-12: Scramble
·
13-18 Alternating Shot
Handicapping 666:
Match
Play – Averaged Handicaps – Each players handicaps are added up and averaged
for a team handicap
Team
Handicap: Total of 2 players is divided by 2 to establish the team handicap.
The team
with the lower handicap plays at scratch and the other team gets strokes on the
number of holes that the two teams handicaps differ. For example, if one teams average handicap is
a 10 and the other a 7 – the team with the lower handicap plays at scratch and
the other team gets one stroke on the 3 hardest holes.

Handicapping for Singles Matches
The player with the lowest handicap becomes the baseline
handicap and plays at scratch, meaning he doesn't get any handicap strokes. The
other player gets his handicap strokes by subtracting the other player's
handicap from his. For example, your handicap for this course is 15 and your
opponent's is a 6. Subtract 6 from 15; your handicap is 9 and your opponent
plays scratch.
Identifying Stroke Holes
Each hole has a handicap number
indicated on the scorecard. You subtract a stroke from your score on each hole
for which you are allocated a handicap stroke to get your net score for that hole. For example, if you gets nine strokes,
you subtract a stroke from your score on each of the nine most difficult holes

hole

2015 Captain’s
Rules of Play
General Sportsmanship
·
The overall goal is to have fun while we enjoy some competition.
·
Enjoy who you are paired with – talk and have fun – please leave
all music devices at the driving range as it may bother other players and
certainly may inhibit conversation.
·
If there is a disagreement over how a rule should be applied, feel
free to contact the Commissioner for a ruling.
He is not perfect, but tries his best to settle disputes via the rule
book – Terry 801-652-5153.
·
His rulings are final – but having him come to help will cost time
and slow down play.
Lost Ball, Out of Bounds, Lateral Hazards and Water
·
Hazards will all be played the same for all rounds.
·
For the sake of time, there will be no re-tees.
·
For the player or team that has lost a ball that reasonably
appears to be in play, there is a one minute time limit to look
for the ball.
·
The timer starts when both teams acknowledge the clock to begin.
·
For balls lost in hazards there will be a one stroke penalty; you
can place the ball anywhere along the line of flight to the point of entry. Your opponent must approve your line of flight/point of
entry (Please exhibit
sportsmanship).
Playing the wrong ball
·
Loss of hole
Slow Play - May we rid ourselves of the chance for a 6-hour
round
·
The Commissioner will serve as an unofficial marshal with the goal
of keeping all groups in their appropriate positions on the course.
·
If a group is out of position by more than one hole (more than one
hole behind) he will ask them to speed up.
·
If they cannot catch up in a reasonable time they may be asked to
skip a hole.
